A Constant-Area Midpoint Locus

Problem

Two rays l1,l2l_1, l_2 emanate from a point OO. A moving line ll meets l1l_1 at AA and l2l_2 at BB so that the area of △OAB\triangle OAB is a constant cc. Let DD be the midpoint of ABAB, and let Γ\Gamma be the locus of DD.

1. Prove that Γ\Gamma is symmetric with respect to the bisector of ∠AOB\angle AOB. 2. Prove that Γ\Gamma is (part of) a hyperbola.
