A Tangent Line Proportionality

Problem

The two foci of the ellipse E:x2a2+y2b2=1E:\dfrac{x^2}{a^2}+\dfrac{y^2}{b^2}=1 (a>b>0a>b>0) together with one endpoint of the minor axis are the vertices of a right triangle. The line l:y=−x+3l:y=-x+3 has exactly one common point TT with EE.

1. Find the equation of EE and the coordinates of TT. 2. Let OO be the origin. A line l′l' parallel to OTOT meets EE at two distinct points A,BA,B and meets ll at a point PP. Prove that there is a constant λ\lambda with ∣PT∣2=λ∣PA∣⋅∣PB∣|PT|^2=\lambda|PA|\cdot|PB|, and find λ\lambda.
