A Pyramid over a Parallelogram Base

★ 5/10Law of Cosinessolid geometry

Problem

figure

As shown in the figure, in the pyramid P-ABCDP\text{-}ABCD the base ABCDABCD is a parallelogram with ∠ABC=120∘\angle ABC=120^\circ, AB=1AB=1, BC=4BC=4, and PA=15PA=\sqrt{15}. The points MM and NN are the midpoints of BCBC and PCPC respectively, and PD⊥DCPD\perp DC, PM⊥MDPM\perp MD.

1. Prove that AB⊥PMAB\perp PM.

2. Find the sine of the angle between the line ANAN and the plane PDMPDM.
