Problem

Functions y=f(x)y=f(x), y=g(x)y=g(x), and h(x)=kx+bh(x)=kx+b (k,b∈Rk,b\in\mathbb R) satisfy

f(x)⩾h(x)⩾g(x)for all x∈D.f(x)\geqslant h(x)\geqslant g(x)\quad\text{for all }x\in D.

1. If f(x)=x2+2xf(x)=x^2+2x, g(x)=−x2+2xg(x)=-x^2+2x, and D=(−∞,+∞)D=(-\infty,+\infty), find h(x)h(x). 2. If f(x)=x2−x+1f(x)=x^2-x+1, g(x)=kln⁡xg(x)=k\ln x, h(x)=kx−kh(x)=kx-k, and D=(0,+∞)D=(0,+\infty), find the range of kk. 3. If f(x)=x4−2x2f(x)=x^4-2x^2, g(x)=4x2−8g(x)=4x^2-8, h(x)=4(t3−t)x−3t4+2t2h(x)=4(t^3-t)x-3t^4+2t^2 (where 0<∣t∣⩽20<|t|\leqslant\sqrt 2), and D=[m,n]⊆[−2,2]D=[m,n]\subseteq\left[-\sqrt 2,\sqrt 2\right], prove that n−m⩽7n-m\leqslant\sqrt 7.
