A Parabola's Optical Property

Problem

In the coordinate plane, a moving point EE is equidistant from the fixed point (1,0)(1, 0) and the line x=−1x = -1.

1. Find the equation of the locus CC of EE. 2. A moving line l ⁣:y=kx+bl \colon y = kx + b is tangent to the curve CC at PP and meets the line x=−1x = -1 at QQ. Prove that the circle with diameter PQPQ always passes through a fixed point on the xx-axis.
