An Invariant in a Recursion

Problem

Sequences {an}\{a_n\} and {bn}\{b_n\} satisfy a1=1a_1 = 1, b1=2b_1 = 2, and

an+1bn=anbn+2an+4.a_{n+1}b_n = a_nb_n + 2a_n + 4.

1. If additionally bn=2anb_n = 2a_n for all nn, prove that for n⩾2n \geqslant 2,

n+2⩽an⩽32n+1.n + 2 \leqslant a_n \leqslant \frac{3}{2}n + 1.
  1. If instead anbn+1=anbn+2bn+4a_nb_{n+1} = a_nb_n + 2b_n + 4 for all nn, prove that an<10a_n < 10 for all nn.
