A Second Crossing

Problem

Let f(x)=ex−x22f(x) = \mathrm{e}^x - \dfrac{x^2}{2}, and let ll be the tangent line to y=f(x)y = f(x) at the point P(x0,f(x0))P(x_0, f(x_0)) with x0>0x_0 > 0.

1. Prove that ll meets the curve y=f(x)y = f(x) at exactly one point (x1,f(x1))(x_1, f(x_1)) other than PP, and that x1<0x_1 < 0. 2. Under the conditions of part 1, find the range of possible values of x0x1\dfrac{x_0}{x_1}.
