A Tangent Quadrilateral Locus and Area

Problem

Let PP be a moving point on the ellipse C:x23+y22=1C:\dfrac{x^2}3+\dfrac{y^2}2=1. The two tangent lines from PP to the circle x2+y2=1x^2+y^2=1 meet the ellipse again at points AA and BB; from AA and BB, the other tangent lines AQAQ, BQBQ to the circle OO meet at a point QQ.

1. Find the equation of the locus of QQ. 2. Find the range of the area of the quadrilateral PAQBPAQB (to four decimal places).
